Die Stadt zieht Einheimische an, aber auch Touristen, die sich nach Sandstr\u00e4nden sehnen und die nahegelegenen Mangroven erkunden m\u00f6chten.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Al Khor ist jedoch nicht nur eine Touristenstadt. 35 % der Landwirtschaft Katars konzentrieren sich auf diesen Bezirk. Hier produzieren die Bauernh\u00f6fe Katars wichtigste Gem\u00fcsesorten: Karotten, Kartoffeln, Zwiebeln usw. Und falls du dich fragst, was daran so besonders ist: Man sollte nicht vergessen, dass Katar gr\u00f6\u00dftenteils aus W\u00fcste besteht und die Landwirtschaft dort eine Kunst f\u00fcr sich ist.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>1970 wurde in der N\u00e4he von Al Khor auch Erdgas entdeckt. In der Gemeinde Ras Laffan wurde in der N\u00e4he ein Erdgasaufbereitungszentrum errichtet.
