Das Doha Heritage Village ist ein Ort, der durch seine Gegens\u00e4tze zu begeistern wei\u00df. Einerseits ist \u201eKatara\u201c so gestaltet, dass es einem traditionellen katarischen Handelsdorf \u00e4hnelt. Andererseits existiert der gesamte Komplex erst seit 2010 und beherbergt moderne Kunst sowie Galerien wie die franz\u00f6sische Galeria Lafayette.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201eKatara\u201c ist der historische Name des Staates Katar<\/a>, der vor dem 18. Jahrhundert n. Chr. verwendet wurde. Das Katara \u2013 Doha Heritage Village sollte das traditionelle katarische Dorf widerspiegeln, das sich an der Corniche im Al Rumeilia Park befand. Und tats\u00e4chlich: Wenn du dich in den engen Gassen von \u201eKatara\u201c verirrst, hast du vielleicht das Gef\u00fchl, mehrere Jahrhunderte in der Zeit zur\u00fcckgereist zu sein. Wenn du jedoch auf einen der weitl\u00e4ufigen Pl\u00e4tze dieses Heritage Village trittst, wirst du vielleicht \u00fcberrascht sein, eine zeitgen\u00f6ssische Skulptur oder ein Einkaufszentrum in einem v\u00f6llig anderen architektonischen Stil zu sehen.<\/p>\n

Einer unserer Lieblingspl\u00e4tze im Doha Heritage Village war der vor der Lafayette-Galerie. Die gesamte Architektur dieser ber\u00fchmten Galerie erinnerte eher an den europ\u00e4ischen Klassizismus als an traditionelle katarische Geb\u00e4ude. Doch das Talent des Architekten von Katara machte es m\u00f6glich, einen anderen Stil in den traditionellen Teil des nachgebauten katarischen Dorfes zu integrieren.<\/p>\n
