Qanat Quartier er et nyopf\u00f8rt kvarter i Doha, beliggende i 'The Pearl'. Og hvis det ikke var for udsigten til Lusail (med de karakteristiske, magnetlignende Katara-t\u00e5rne), ville det f\u00f8les, som om vi var flyttet fra \u00f8rkenlandet Qatar<\/a> til Venedig.<\/p>\n

Vi m\u00e5 indr\u00f8mme, at Qanat Quartier i "The Pearl" forvirrede os lidt. F\u00e5 minutter tidligere havde vi udforsket havnen i "The Pearl" og befandt os pludselig i en helt anden verden. Bygningerne<\/a> i Qanat Quartier var designet<\/a> og malet, s\u00e5 de afspejlede Venedig. Men det er ikke alt \u2013 kanalerne og broerne i sig selv mindede ogs\u00e5 p\u00e5 en vildledende m\u00e5de om den italienske by (du kan ogs\u00e5 se "Rialto"-broen<\/a> p\u00e5 et af Nicos fotos). Derudover str\u00f8mmede der romantisk og afslappende musik ud af h\u00f8jttalere, der var gemt et eller andet sted langs havnefronten, hvilket skabte en fornemmelse af italiensk sommer.<\/p>\n

Den store forskel var dog… tilstedev\u00e6relsen af mennesker. Mens man i det \u00e6gte Venedig<\/a> ikke kan g\u00e5 uden at st\u00f8de ind i andre, m\u00f8dte vi kun f\u00e5 forbipasserende i Qanat Quartier. Der er heller ingen overfyldte caf\u00e9er og restauranter. Hele "byen" ser ud til at v\u00e6re nybygget og stadig vente p\u00e5 sine indbyggere.<\/p>\n

Jeg spekulerede p\u00e5, om det overhovedet gav mening at sammenligne Venedig med Qanat Quartier. P\u00e5 trods af den overfladiske lighed med Venedig er det let at se, at man befinder sig i en anden del af verden \u2013 for eksempel gennem udsigten over Lusail. Eller det faktum, at man kan komme til Qanat Quartier med Uber \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
