At the bottom of the famous Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia you find the KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Centre) Park, which was designed by Roberto Burle Marx and is an absolute must-see when visiting the Malaysian capital. The park area measures about 20 hectares and offers many walkways, playgrounds and picnic areas, but its biggest attraction is the 10,000 m² big man-made lake, Lake Symphony with a 43 meter long bridge spanning across the water.
After an evening stroll around the park I couldn’t help, but capture the legendary Petronas Towers, as their bright lights stood in total contrast to the dark blue night sky. Thank goodness, the KLCC Park in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia offers enough space to do that, as capturing the full-length of the twin towers from the other side is nearly impossible. The 452 meter high towers, get their name from the petroleum company Petronas and for a short period of time they were held to be the highest buildings in the world. Between the 41st and 42nd floor, at a height of 172 meters, the skybridge connects the towers with each other in a spectacular and unique way. The 58 meter long bridge rests on specially designed ball bearings, in order to not damage the buildings with its natural swinging motion.
Buildings like this, are always a very special sight for me, but seeing the Petronas Towers from the KLCC Park in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia that evening was a true once in a lifetime experience.
