The London Docklands, once the largest port in the world, are now a vibrant financial center. The skyscrapers of Canary Wharf can be seen from all over the city but the direct view over the Thames you can enjoy from Greenwich. As I wrote before, our walk along the Thames riverbank that night was due to rather unfortunate circumstances.
But I would not be myself if I did not try to make the best out of every situation. For a long time I wanted to try to make an HDR panorama. Why I didn’t do any so far? I honestly don’t know. But this time I had the time and place to try it: Zoom to 55mm, align the tripod and go. Overall, the finished work is composed of 28 individual images, 4 segments each with 7 exposures.
I first put the seven exposures of the individual segments together in Photomatix. The results were then merged together in Photoshop where I also did the rest of the post-processing. Special attention I’ve paid on the sky, as I want to present its structure as accurately as possible. To achieve that I have greatly increased the contrast to emphasize the cloud formation.

Get it On Your Wall
Sumfinity.com presents the hub for my works. I write about my impressions on my trips and during taking the photos. I try to provide you with insight into my artistic life, but the focus is always with the pictures.
It fills me with pride when I see that my photos are sometimes viewed by approximately 150,000 people within 24 hours. I imagine that I can give all those people at least two seconds of pure pleasure. That’s 80 hours of happiness! In a world which is dominated by sad, upsetting and dismaying news, I’m so glad to be able to create a small counterpart.
