Mallorca is often called the 17th federal state here in Germany and in times like these, there is nothing you want more than lying on the beach. It has 36°C here in Berlin. Not complaining about the heat, but it is definitely more pleasant to enjoy the sun outside of the city.
Camera: Canon EOS 500D
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-55 IS @ 35mm
Exposures: 3 (-2, 0, +2)
Exposure time (middle): 1/200s
Location: Approximately at Balneario 8/9. Shot was taken before the tourist season (Beginning of May), so it was a bit cold in the evenings and the beach emptied out fast.
Processing: HDR composition from 3 exposures to get the colours right, regardless of the backlight. I gave the beach a bit more colour, to make it look more like it did in reality.
Software: Lightroom 4.3, Photoshop CS6, Photomatix Pro, Nik Dfine 2.0, Nik Sharpener Pro 3
In the before-after comparison you can see the advantage of HDR technique. All the vary details cannot be captured in a single exposure in a way as the human eye can do that. Especially the beach: In reality warm and inviting it is just dark in the single exposure.
